The Lemont Artists Guild and Lemont Park District will host this 15th annual Love of Art, Juried Fine Art and Fine Craft Show and Sale on Saturday November 7th, from 10 AM to 4 PM. This is a day when local artists can showcase their work to the community. With over 40 artists participating this juried show is bound to offer something for everyone! The judges will choose 'Best of Show' along with several other awards in various categories. Check out the gallery with winners from last years show.

2009-2010 Board Elected

We are pleased to announce the Jim McGloin has agreed to take on the position of President for the Lemont Artists Guild. We are confident that the guild will grow under his leadership. Joining him on the board are Shirley Sobol as Vice President and Program Chair, Chuck Wright at Secretary, Tim Rozycki as Treasurer, Emily J.B. Christian as Member at Large. Barbara Dwersteg Norum is pleased to pass on leadership to Jim and assist the board as Past-President.

The Lemont Artists Guild meets on the third Wednesday of each month from 7:00 - 9:00 PM between September and May. Our meetings will be held in two locations this year:
September and October meetings will be held at the Lemont Park District in the main building. November through May our meetings will be held at the Lemont Public Library in the Athens Gallery. Please check the Events Calendar page for more information about the locations and links to maps. Non Art Guild members are welcome to all meetings. Come and check it out, you may want to become a member.
Lee Anderson Waterfowl Carvings for Sale

Lee Anderson a self-taught folk wood-carver, loved to carve birds from wood as much as he liked to enjoy them in nature. After his death in May 2008, a collection of his birds were donated to the Lemont Artists Guild - a group that he joined shortly after its inception. Some of his carvings have been accepted into the collection of the Illinois State Museum. Selected pictures of his work can be found on the gallery page.
With a little coaxing he started taking Art Guild Members on historic walks through his 'old stompin' grounds' along the I&M Canal in Lemont and became a favorite Lemont Folk Historian. He was a recipient of the Studs Terkel Humanitarian Award in 2004.
Proceeds from the sale of the carved birds will to to the operations of the guild and to support its mission to enhance life in Lemont and surrounding community by providing fine art education, instruction, programming, and appreciation through a supportive environment that nurtures creativity and individuality.
